New Single ‘VIATU’ by Celestine Sawa out now
NEW SINGLE RELEASE
‘VIATU’
BY CELESTINE SAWA
LABEL: SJP RECORDS
SJP Records are pleased to release the new Swahili reggae single called “Viatu” by the Kenyan singer Sawa. It is now available for download at Skyjuice online store and for a later date on iTunes, stay in tune.
Viatu which means shoes, is a song about being grateful and always remember the person or the people who worked hard for you
could have a good life, an education, clothes to wear, food on the table, shelter or who went through thick and thin to help you
reach to where you are today. The song was written for my parents, but you choose who in your life that description fits you want
dedicate it to.
Sawa was born in Kitale as the daughter of a preacher, but now lives in Demark with her husband and kids.
Singing has always been a big part of her life as she grew up singing in her fathers church. Gathering around the radio with her brothers every thursday morning to listen to an hour of reggae time, was one of the inspirational sources that made her develop the love for Reggae music. She therefore started writing and singing her own songs at a tender age of 15. She recorded her first reggae song with sky juice reggae promotions in 2008. Since then she has performed alongside acknowledged reggae singers in Denmark, and has also warmed up for artists like, Mojoh from Morgan heritage and Fontan Mojah.
This fresh Talented and exciting female artist who sings both in Swahili and English is no iron balloon trust me, she has a good head on her shoulder and has just left the musical starting blocks, so look out for much more from Sawa.
Track composed by Dc Jahman (S.J.P. Records), programmed, recorded and mixed at Ghetto and Studio A, mastered at Anchor , musicians: Troels (Keyboard) Marcel Oshama (drums) and Dc Jahman (drums and programming)
This single is available for sale at the Skyjuice online store!
