Jah Turban musically speaking, born name Ian Thompson. African descendant, rebirth in Jamaica, grew up in Spanish Town St Catherine. A Rastaman Bobo Ashanti, humbly inspired by the knowledge of Africa, which is an important source in his everyday life and meditations.

Jah Turban is grateful to be able to bring to you all his first album entitled MAMA AFRICA, which means a lot to him. The songs are based on the message of love, equality and justice as well as things that he has experienced in day to day life.

It is not a pain to follow on the step of my forefathers, like the songs of Solomon, songs of David – those mystic songs live on through the divine force of one self.  Music is the voice of the voiceless. Music heals the broken hearted.
